The Notifier is a direct way to give the user direct feedback about their progress, change of status in the gameplay experience etc. These notifiers are usually at the top or bottom of a page, or they are popups in "chat bubble" style. Though the visual representation of a Notification varies, the notifier always conveys information to the player based on an action they performed or a change that the player requested to be notified about.

Traditional Gaming

Whenever a player does damage to an enemy in World of Warcraft, the damage is recorded, viewable, and notified on screen

Gamification

Applying this to a gamified site, when a player visits a webpage that provides +10 cumulative experience points a pop-under displaye what activity earned the points and how much was earned.
