The attached pdf shows the various areas of the brain that become engaged through game mechanics. Depending on brain chemistry, different people enjoy various types of game design. You can see research below conducted by Rob Beeson. What type of a gamer are you? Which areas of game mechanics do you find enjoyment?

Rob Beeson has identified Seven types of reward centers in the brain:

  • Achiever
  • Mastermind
  • Seeker
  • Daredevil
  • Solver
  • Survivor
